Irene Bauman

Irene Bauman, 92 of Reese, died early Tuesday morning, November 3, 2009 at Satchell's Adult Foster Care Home in Caro. The former Irene McPherson was born December 4, 1916 on her family’s Centennial Farm in Denmark Township, Tuscola County She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mattie (Weaver) McPherson. On April 14, 1934 she was married to Earl Bauman in Reese. He predeceased her November 30, 2001. Irene was a faithful member of the Reese United Methodist Church all of her life, sang in the church choir, and was also a member of the Reese United Methodist Women. She was a homemaker most of her life and helped her husband on the farm. Her greatest pleasures was being with her family, making bread, and taking rides in the family car after dinner.

Surviving are her two daughters, Marilyn Baublitz and her husband Donald of Caro; and Kathleen Johnson of Reese; two grandsons, James Abbey and his wife Lisa of Caro; and Dr. Kenneth Abbey and his wife Jennifer Swendsen of Lake Osewego, Oregon; two great grandchildren, Nicholas Abbey and Caitlyn Abbey of Caro; sixteen step great-grandchildren and two step great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Irene was predeceased by her sister Nellie Miller.

~Services~
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2009 from the Reese United Methodist Church. Rev. Dr. Harold J. Slater, Pastor, will officiate. Private family committal services will take place later at the Eastlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Saginaw.

~Visitation~
Irene’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St. in Reese on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Reese United Methodist Church.
