Scott Allen Grasel, 20, of Reese, died Saturday morning, December 19, 2009 in Genesee County as a result of an automobile accident while returning home from taking morning exams at the U of M. He was born June 1, 1989 in Saginaw, son of Robert and Deborah (Newbauer) Grasel Jr. of Reese. He attended St. Elizabeth Catholic School and graduated from Reese High School in 2007. Scott was currently in his third year of attending the University of Michigan, Flint Campus, majoring in Management. He was a member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Reese and was employed at the Subway in Reese. His enjoyments included playing on-line poker, both at home and at the Soaring Eagle Casino, and playing Fantasy Football. Scott was also a season ticket holder for the Detroit Lions.
Surviving in addition to his parents Bob and Deb is his brother; Kevin of Reese, his grandparents; Barbara Newbauer of Swartz Creek, Robert and MaryAnn Grasel Sr. of Frankenmuth, his two cats, Gary and Pete and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
~Funeral Services~
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2009 from the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Reese. Father Bill Gruden will officiate with burial to follow in the St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
~Visitation~
Scott’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St. in Reese on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass.
