Joe C. Bogel

Joe C. Bogel, 88, of Midland, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died late Friday evening, January 22, 2010 at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw. He was born November 17, 1921 in Ohio, son of the late Martin and Magdelena (Kramer) Bogel Sr. Joe served with U.S. Army during WWII. On September 24, 1944 he married the former Barbara Brown in Midland. Mr. Bogel owned and operated Bogel Reality, with his wife, in Midland for many years. He was a member of the DAV in Midland and enjoyed fishing, hunting and collecting rocks.

Surviving besides his wife Barbara, are his children and their spouses, Joe and Karen Bogel of Midland and Janice and Robert Lewis of Flemington, N.J.; four grandchildren, Calvin Bogel and Jennifer Bogel, both of Midland; Carol Ann Importico and her husband Bill and Kathleen Lewis all of Flemington, N.J; five great-grandchildren, Aaron, Sadie, Abrina, Gabriella and Kaiden and his niece, Jane Bogel of Midland. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bogel was predeceased by his brother, Martin Bogel and his sister, Helen Roth.

~Funeral Services~
Funeral and committal services will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from the Ware Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler St. Midland. Deacon Mike Jankowiak of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church will officiate with burial to take place later in the Old Calvary Cemetery in Midland.

~Visitation~
Mr. Bogel’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11: 30 a.m. until the time of services.
