Dorothy Yoder

Dorothy Virginia Whittington Yoder was born June 6, 1920 to Henry Harvey Whittington and Mary Edith Pittman Whittington. She died February 2, 2010 in the home of her son, Jerry and Carolyn Yoder, Warsaw, Indiana, after a battle with cancer. Dorothy was married, August 2, 1940, to Vernon E. Yoder (deceased February 1, 1992) in Mio. She had three sons, Ronald V. Yoder, deceased, (Aleta) of Greenwood, IN; Gerald W. Yoder (Carolyn) of Warsaw, IN; and John G. Yoder (Sharon) of Hollister, CA. There are also six grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild as well as much loved extended family. She is survived by one brother, John Whittington of Midland. She was preceded in death by one son, five sisters, one brother and one grandson.

Dorothy was a life-long resident of Midland County, a member of the Floyd Church of God for fifty-eight years and loved being a wife, mother, farmer and much loved friend of many.

~Funeral Services~
Funeral services will take place 11 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2010 from the Floyd Church of God. Pastor Jeff Eckman, Pastor Bill Caroffino and her son Pastor Jerry Yoder will officiate with burial to follow in the Lee Township Cemetery.

~Visitation~
Dorothy’s family will receive friends at the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 West Wheeler Street on Friday from 4-8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Floyd Church of God or Kosciusko County Hospice in Warsaw, IN.
