Emma Marx

Emma (Ahrns) Marx, 96, of Reese, died Sunday afternoon, May 9, 2010 at Tendercare of Frankenmuth. She was born August 10, 1913 in Reese, daughter of the late William and Flora (Lafayette) Ahrns. She was a graduate of Reese High School. On February 6, 1937 she was married to John Marx. He predeceased her April 23, 1973. Emma worked for many years in the cafeteria at the Reese High School and was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Reese.

Surviving is her daughter-in-law Judy Marx of Reese, her grandchildren, Troy Dale Marx and his wife Jennifer of South Dakota; Wendy Fisher of England; Sherry Monsees and her husband John of Vassar; Shawn Marx of Frankenmuth; Scott Marx of Reese; great-grandchildren, Matthew Fisher, James, Isaac and Jordan Marx all of South Dakota; Brooke Monsees, Nicole Shelters and her husband Andy, all of Vassar; Chris Marx and his wife Sarah of San Diego, California; Brandon Marx of Ludington and her great-great granddaughter, Raven Shelters of Vassar. In addition to her parents and husband, Emma was predeceased by her two sons, Dale Marx, January 29, 2010 and Gerald “Jerry” Marx, June 7, 2004 and her brothers, Arthur, Darwin and George Ahrns.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2010 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 9940 Saginaw Street in Reese. Rev. Tom Senge of the Christ Lutheran Church in Reese will officiate. With burial to follow in the Eastlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Saginaw. Emma’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of services. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider The Christ Lutheran Church.
