Marie Sixberry

Marie Sixberry, 98, of Reese died early Sunday morning, May 16, 2010 at The Lutheran Home of Frankenmuth.
She was born November 9, 1911 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late John and Mary (Schultz) Bull. On June 29, 1935 she was married to Nolan R. Sixberry in Angola, Indiana. He predeceased her May 28, 1987. Mrs. Sixberry was a long time resident of Reese and was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid. She was employed as the head cook at the Reese High School for eighteen years, retiring in 1974. She was also a member of the Frankenmuth Conservation Club and the Caro Gun Club.

Surviving are her children and their spouses; James and Eva Sixberry of Clio, Ron and Esther Sixberry of Reese; and Jeanette and Paul Keller of Vassar, four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was predeceased by two grandsons, Mark Fischer and David Sixberry and by six brothers and six sisters.

In honoring Marie’s wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service to celebrate her life will take place 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 21, 2010 at The Lutheran Home of Frankenmuth. Private family inurnment will take place next to her husband in the Blumfield Township Cemetery. There are no visiting hours planed at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Directors, 9940 Saginaw St. in Reese. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider The Lutheran Home of Frankenmuth or The Lutheran Care Agency “Hospice of Hope”
