James “Jumbo” W. Brandel Sr., 60, of Reese, died Sunday June 20, 2010 at Covenant Cooper Hospital. Jim was born Feb. 5, 1950 in Saginaw to the late Richard and Sophia (Orlowski) Brandel. He retired from Grey Iron Power Train in 2004, and enjoyed fishing, cooking, watching football, and NASCAR. Jim was also a big Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan. He is survived by his sons James W. Brandel Jr. of Texas, Jason Brandel of Nebraska, Kyle Brandel of Reese; brothers; Duane (Barb) Brandel of Alpena, Ed (Pam) Brandel of Saginaw, Joe (Diane) Brandel of Saginaw, Dave (Connie) Brandel of Saginaw, Bob (Virginia) Brandel of Sheilds, Bill Brandel of Saginaw, Richard Brandel, Tony (Michelle) Brandel of Boston; sisters Shirley (Rodney) Brown of Reese, Cindy (Jim) Castanier of Saginaw, Cheryl (Rich) Rizer of Freeland, Jackie (Joe) Kirby of Saginaw, and Peggy (Iggy) H. of Reading, PA. Jim was predeceased by his parents and sister Kathleen Brandel.

A gathering time for family and friends will take place from 4-7 pm, Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 9940 Saginaw Street, Reese with cremation to follow.
