Ethel A. (Reynolds) Fath, born February 14, 1929, daughter of Floyd S. and Mildred E. (Harmon) Reynolds died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 14, 2010 at Gladwin Pines Nursing Home, where she was residing after complications from hip surgery on June 4, 2010 at Midland Hospital. Ethel was married to Andrew Fath on September 16, 1949 at Peace Lutheran Church in Saginaw, Michigan. Andrew predeceased her on June 12, 1989. Among the things she enjoyed in life were her family, friends, serving in the community where she resided most of her life, and giving hugs to all who encountered her. Her legacy of community service included Camp Fire Girls, 4-H, Mills elementary noon hour supervisor, board member on the Midland Council on Aging, Ushering at the Center for the Arts, and “Queen Mum” of the Red Hat Flashes. Those who knew her best called her “Eth”, “Mom/Ma”, and “Aunt Ethel”. Her generous nature, hugs, artistic creations, and butterflies will be missed by all. She is survived by her children: Norman A. (Gloria) Fath of Sanford, Daniel T. (Lew) Fath, David E. and Mark J. Fath and Gary L Dennis (nephew) of Midland, Reynetta L. Fath of Ypsilanti and Vernon H. (Mary McKitrick) of Northampton, Massachusetts; her sisters-in-law, Violet (Fath) Grell of Midland and Floretta J. Reynolds of Ann Arbor; nine grandchildren: Andrew, Stephanie and Heather Fath of Sanford, Amy (Fath) Stahl of Joplin, Missouri and Josef Fath of Midland, April (Kushmaul) Roth of Coleman, and Wayne Kushmaul of Kawkawlin, Edward and Peter Fath of Northampton; six great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will take place at 12:00 noon, Sunday, August 8, 2010 from the North Midland Family Center in Mills Township. Rev. Kurt Eichinger of Lord of the New Life Lutheran Church will officiate.
