Kriss Allen

After a courageous battle with cancer, Kriss Andrew Allen, 49, of Midland, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 21, 2010. Kriss was born June 10, 1961, in Midland, to Ernest and Bonnie (Klingbail) Allen. He was an employee with the State of Michigan, Department of Management and Budget. He was mechanically inclined having worked with his father at Allen Machine Works and was a licensed builder. Kriss was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially enjoyed mushrooming and spending time with his family at their cottage on Clear Lake. Kriss is survived by his parents, Ernest and Bonnie Allen of Midland; brothers, Rick (Deanna) Allen and Jay (Debbie) Allen both of Midland; sister, Pam (Pete) Schmidt of Traverse City; nieces and nephews, Jenny (Mark) Hickerson, Angie Lederer, Rikelle (Murray) Shaver, Krista Hoffman, Kaila (Adam) Briston, Andrew (Julie) Allen, Tyler (Sarah) Allen, Ali (Brett) Campbell, and Jesse Fitzgibbon. He will be missed by his special cousins David Allen and Ken Allen and friends Rick Havens and Kendall Burlew.

~Funeral~
Funeral services for Kriss will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010, from Messiah Lutheran Church. Pastor John Langewisch will officiate with interment to take place in Homer Township Cemetery.

~Visitation~
Kriss’s family will receive friends at the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 West Wheeler Street, on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
