George P. “Pat” Kelsey, 62 of Sanford, died Thursday, July 22, 2010 at the MidMichigan Medical Center. He was born on March 16, 1948 in Midland, son of the late Earl L. & Florence E. (Welch) Kelsey Sr. He attended Meridian Schools graduating from Meridian High School in 1967. Pat married the former Linda Lou Boice on June 22, 1968 at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Midland. He retired from The Dow Chemical Company in 1998 after 32 years for Dow. Pat loved history, especially Gettysburg, and fishing with his sons and grandkids. He is survived by his wife, Linda; children, George Kelsey of Sanford, Brian (Stacie) Kelsey of Hope, Matt (Chris) Kelsey of Mt. Pleasant and Angie (Dan) Merillat of Sanford; grandchildren, Travis Kelsey, Kevin Kelsey, Hunter Merillat, Kelsey Merillat, Drew Kelsey, Bailey Kelsey, Brittany Shute, Keifer Shute, and Jessie Shute; brothers and sisters, Paul Terry, R. Yvonne Kelsey, Tom (Virginia) Kelsey, Marthea (Russell) Zilska, Rose A Lee (Amos) Hall, Sandy (Bob) Hinkle, Gary (Diane) Kelsey, Judy Kelsey Dubiel, Carolyn (Larry) Bowman, and Cheryl (Roger) Terry and by his beloved dog, Abby. In addition to his parents, Pat was predeceased by his father-in-law, John Boice; brother, Earl Kelsey Jr.; two sisters, Betty Terry and Nancy Kelsey; and by his brother-in-law, Ken Dubiel.

~Funeral~
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2010, from the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 West Wheeler Street. Rev. Roger Stauffer will officiate with burial in Sanford Cemetery.

~Visitation~
Pat’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
