Larry W. Skym

Larry Wayne Skym, 64 of Sanford, died Sunday, July 25, 2010 at the MidMichigan Medical Center. He was born October 2, 1945 in Midland, son of the late Charles W. & Lucille F. (Mills) Skym. Larry attended Midland Schools, graduating from Midland High School. On March 16, 1965 he married the former Glenda Dixon in Midland. Larry worked for General Motors as a fork truck operator, retiring in 1996 after 32 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, playing and managing softball and was involved with the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 443 in Sanford. Larry is survived by his wife, Glenda; children, Larry C. (Rhoda Filcek) Skym, Michael G. Skym, Kristi K. (Stanley Fisher) Skym; “other daughter” Erika Hovick; grandchildren, Alyssa L. Skym, Lucas M. Skym, Amanda K. Fisher; one brother, Edward (Cheryl) Skym; sister-in-laws, Paula Skym, Deborah Bis, Laurie (Keith) Hood, Rebecca Whittington, Shirley Plumer; Brother-in-laws, Glenn (Violet) Dixon, and Robert (Linda) Geeseman. In addition to his parents, Larry was predeceased by one brother, Jerry Skym and 2 sisters, Linda Stein and Barbara Skym.

~Services~
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 29, 2010 from the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 West Wheeler Street. Chaplain Penny Fleischmann will officiate with interment to follow in Sanford Cemetery.

~Visitation~
Larry’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
