Leona Brechtelsbauer, 84, of Reese, died early Tuesday morning, July 27, 2010 at Covenant HealthCare Cooper Campus in Saginaw. The former Leona Cramer was born September 25, 1925 in Detroit, daughter of the late Lee and Florence ( Aurand) Cramer. She was married to Wilmer A. “Willie” Brechtelsbauer September 9, 1944. He predeceased her November 28, 1995. Leona was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese, its Mary Martha Guild and the Singles Club. She was a former employee of Reese High School, where she worked in the cafeteria for many years, and also the U.S. Postal Service. Her favorite enjoyment was being with her family and making sure her numerous friends were chauffeured to their various appointments.
Surviving are her two daughters, Sherry Frank and her husband Rudy of Frankenmuth and Carol Jamison of Caro; five grandchildren, Matthew Frank and his wife Jamie of Hernado, Mississippi,, Andrew Frank of Frankenmuth, Nicole Frank of Phoenix, Arizona, Mikel Frank of Frankenmuth and Erica Ruppert and her husband Kyle of Lexington, S.C., four great-grandchildren, Elliott, Leo and Liam Frank and Emma Ruppert. Also surviving is her sister, Betty Andrus of Reese. In addition to her parents and husband, Leona was predeceased by her two sons, Terry Michael and Gary Wilmer Brechtelsbauer and her two brothers, Rex and Jack Cramer.
~Services~
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010 from the Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese. Rev. Robert H. Bennett and Vicar John Henry will both officiate with graveside committal services to follow in the Blumfield Township Cemetery.
~Visitation~
Leona’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St. in Reese on Friday from 4-8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital or the Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese.
